O-ZONE

In a dystopian, cyberpunk future, a brilliant and tormented teenager is kidnapped by a band of outcasts and dragged into the uncharted and irradiated Outer Zone.

Based on the brilliant and prescient novel O-ZONE by Paul Theroux.

FISHER ALLBRIGHT is a 15-year-old genius in particle physics, who seems permanently attached to the VR computer in his room.

When he is at last persuaded by his stepfather, HARDY, to celebrate New Years 2075 with his affluent family on a what is promised to be a fun and exciting “wilderness excursion" to the Outer Zone, he encounters a strange and alien world that exists on our very own planet.

On the second day in the zone, where no humans are legally allowed to venture, Fisher disappears, kidnapped by a small band of outcasts hoping to sell him to slavers. Or even eat him. The O-Zone, it seems, is not for the faint-hearted.

The kidnappers, like thousands of other Zoners, have lived secretly in the O-Zone for over thirty years. They used to be American citizens from all walks of life, until they were designated as “dangerous” and dumped into the Zone, from which there is no possibility of escape.

During his capture, Fisher bonds with a tribal girl named BLIGH and proves himself incredibly useful to the tribe, due to his advanced understanding of technology.

Little does he suspect, however, that he and Bligh will soon become the catalysts for a revolution that may very well turn society on its head and end the decades of cruel classism that plagues the world.
